Horror Anthology sells as NFTs

Filmmaker and indie artist, Kevin Smith plans to auction his latest horror anthology “Killroy Was Here” as a non-fungible token (NFT).

The indie artist is partnering with Semkhor to produce and distribute the NFTs.

Smith shared that if the NFT method works, artists like him will have a new platform to tell their film stories.

The filmmaker will also auction the work on Jay and Silent Bob’s Crypto Studio, an indie crypto gallery.

Dubai’s Economic Ready for Blockchain-based KYC

Dubai’s Department of Economic Development and Dubai International Financial Centre signed an agreement as published on its website on April 6th that they are working to expand their Know Your Customer platform to financial institutions across the UAE.

The project was first announced in February 2020.

The platform will enable efficient sharing of verified KYC data among licensing authorities.

UAE Minister of Economy sees crypto and asset tokenization will double the size of its economy.

Gray Gensler (New U.S SEC Chairman)

The Senate approved Gary Gensler, former chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), as new chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday.

Gary Gensler is now the 33rd Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission after he worn with 53 votes, some votes above 45. Susan Collins, Chuck Grassley, and major Bitcoin supporter Cynthia Lummis voted in the favor of Gensler.

Dogecoin surged 71 percent hitting all-time high of $0,125 on Binance Exchange in the last 24 hours, with the daily trading volume exploding past $4.5 billion.

Germany house is auctioned for sale as an NFT

A house in Kransberg, Germany, is being sold as a non-fungible token (NFT) in an auction on OpenSea, with a minimum reserve price of 34 ETH ($74,000, with deadline on April 25.

The buyer will contact the seller and organize the sale of the house through standard legal means.

This auction comes just weeks after a digital house called Mars House was sold for $512,000.

MicroStrategy Directors receive Board fees in BTC

A publicly-listed company, arguably one of Bitcoin’s biggest proponents, MicroStrategy led by Michael Saylor, will now pay the board fees to its non- employee directors in bitcoin.

MicroStrategy has modified the compensation arrangements for nonemployee directors according recent filling with SEC.

The Board showed its commitment to bitcoin saying the cryptocurrency will serve as a store of value. The company currently owns almost 100,000 bitcoins.

Kasikornbank (KBank) started experimenting with DeFi services as part of its business expansion plan which is led by KBank’s tech subsidiary, Kasikorn Business Technology Group, or KBTG. KBTG chairman Ruangroj Poonpol said KBank Group is focused on DeFi this year under the second phase of the company’s digital transformation programme.
